Passenger Liability

This benefit ensures you are protected should passengers choose to sue you in the case of an accident. Cover is limited to R100 000 per passenger, R2.5 million per event and R15 million per annum. This benefit is paid after claiming from Road Accident Fund. Overloading the vehicle is not covered and the vehicle must be in a roadworthy condition at all times.

Personal Accident

Pays out R30 000 if you or your driver are deceased/disabled as a result of an accident, and R5 000 for passengers who die as a result of the motor vehicle accident.

Loss of Income

If your insured taxi is involved in a motor vehicle accident which results in the vehicle being damaged to such an extent that we decide, in our sole discretion, that the vehicle is beyond economic repair, then we will pay the insured an amount of R5 000 in respect of loss of income.

How do I lodge claims for passengers injured in an accident?

The cover is provided for in case you are legally liable for the injuries suffered by the passengers following an accident with your insured vehicle.

The passengers injured because of the accident with your insured vehicle, must first approach the Road Accident Fund and submit a claim against the Fund (RAF).

This cover will assist you, in case after a claim was submitted against the Fund (RAF), passengers still believe you are legally liable for their injuries. Once the passengers lodge the claim, same will be dealt with on your behalf.

Can I claim directly against the policy for passengers injured because of the accident with the insured vehicle?

No, the claim must be from a passenger/s who believe you are legally liable for their injuries because of the accident in question.

Will the policy pay for my loss of income if my vehicle has been involved in an accident and is booked-in with the panel beaters to repair the damages?

No, only if the insured vehicle involved in an accident has been declared uneconomical to repair (Write-off). If the vehicle is repairable, you cannot claim for loss of income.

The amount payable for loss of income should your vehicle be declared uneconomical to repair following an accident is R5 000.
