Win A Porsche Draw

Win A Porsche Draw

On the sunny morning of 4 February 2022, we held our Win A Porsche draw, marking the end to the month-long competition that was launched in December 2021. The draw, which was supposed to be held in January, was postponed as a result of the rising number of COVID-19 infections.

Three of our 5 finalists honoured us with their presence and made their way to the stage one by one in the hopes of drawing the winning combination. After two failed tries, three balls, one of which had the winning code, were entered into the box for the contestants to draw at the same time.

The words “save the best for last” rang true for Mfungelwa Zaca who was the last to draw a ball. After a nerve-wracking build-up, he punched in the lucky 5-digit number and the safe shone the coveted greenlight, confirming him as the newest member of the Porsche family. Mr. Zaca, a pastor, fell to his knees in disbelief as tears of joy streamed down his face.

Speaking after the draw, Mr. Zaca explained exactly why he was as emotional as he was. “My journey from Ixopo was not easy but it was not in vain.” he says. His first challenge was getting the money to travel to Midrand. “The SA Taxi consultant who was helping me took R200 from her wallet and wished for God’s protection over me!” he explains.

His next hurdle came in the form of his bus breaking down on the way to Midrand. “When I got to Montrose, the bus I was on broke down and I had to jump on another one at a cost to ensure that I arrive in time for the draw” he narrates.

Mr. Zaca’s faith carried him through his journey and his belief in God kept him calm through all the challenges he faced.

The other four finalists did not walk away empty-handed but all won R10 000.
